Does it provide same quality of Voice and Video chat as on desktop?

I have a G1 and the quality of voice make it impossible to use it as a desktop.
If you listen at youtubes for example the music is very bad.
What would be a great idea is to add speakers to my G1 and then it would be the same quality as my desktop.
A kind if portable speaker I mean.
Is-it possible ?

The G1's speaker is terrible, so you definitely want to use the earphones. Playback quality of video is good. You'll need a video player from the Android Market if you want to watch more than just youtube.
Note that Android 1.1 does not support video recording but a future version probably will.
