Using DatePicker in JSP

I have a start Date and End Date in my screen .So i had used Date Pickers written in JavaScript for this .

How should i extract this Date in my Servlet ? How to use SimpleDateFormat?

One ore doubt is that will the Date Pickers in javascript will be producing Date Format or String Format??

You can use Jquery Date Picker. I find it very nice

The jQuery date picker is rather nice and very easy to use. It instruments a normal input text field so dealing with it on the server is the same as dealing with any other text field. The date format can be specified to be anything you want.
