tomcat 6 problem after vista update..

hi,
i had no problem running tomcat6 on vista till today morning (march-12-2009). This morning the vista got updated automatically and then restarted. After that when I tried to run tomcat it ran but when I tried to connect through the browser ,it didnt connect to the server.
my firewall is that of kaspersky.. windows firewall is off.
Can anyone tell me solution to this problem. my server was running on port 8080. is there problem with vista in running the tomcat6.
can anyone also tell me, if xp is better than vista... i am now having a feeling that vista is no good... ran into lots of problems.

How are you starting Tomcat?
Why are you sure that it is running? Do you watch the startup messages?

its installed manually.... i know it is running because in manual install we can see that in the command screen
