Hi

I am very very new to JQuery/JSon.

I would explain briefly what I am doing and my requirements.

I have inhouse employee Maintenance application, and in that we need to have a button for creating REMINDERS (sort of TODO tool). For this, when an user clicks on the button, the Form should retrieve the data (reminders in this case) for the particular user(employee) and display as a grid on a dialog box. Then on the dialog box the user will have other options, etc.

I earlier tried successfully with showModalDialog(), window.open(), etc and they worked successfully. Now I would like to do the same with JQuery so that the UI would look nice.

So I need help from you all experts to provide some step by step directions as to what I need to do to accomplish this. As of now I am able to retrieve data from Java server, as an ArrayList containing records each record of which is represented as a bean.

Could someone pl provide some samples that uses java code to fetch data from java, display as a grid in a custom dialog box using JQuery. I read thru most examples but all of them discusses with php. I saw a post here from Bryce Martin and my requirement is the same as his.

Hi Bryce, if you can help me on this with a sample, would highly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Yuva

JQuery is a JavaScript library; JavaScript is a totally different language than Java, and it runs in Web browsers. Your mentioning window.open() suggests that, in fact, you're working in JavaScript already, although I'm unclear on the details (perhaps you are as well.) I'm going to move this to the one forum here at the Ranch in which JavaScript questions belong; the other forums are for Java.
