While I think the premise of a purely commercial driven, fabricated rock and roll band is extremely tacky and insulting to true rockers, I find myself a bit mesmerized by this years contestants on Rockstar: Supernova.

I'm hoping that Toby wins. Overall I think he has the most talent, is always prepared, but more importantly, is entertaining. I think Dalana should go home tonight. Ever since she had her little "I don't like Lukas" episode, she has kind of stunk. Last night was especially bad because she has a torn calf muscle and instead of just sitting on her little stool the whole time, she decided to get up and spas out like usual, but was just gimping around on one foot. Looked horrible.

Storm is decent, but I don't think she has the best voice. She really showed her lack of range when she did Bring Me To Life a couple of weeks ago. Lukas' voice sometimes really impresses me and other time really annoys me. I think he's got some real talent but doesn't fit with the rest of the band mates. Although, they did let Kilby Clark join the band. That still confuses me.

Anyway, anyone else watch it? Who are you pulling for?

Personally, I like Toby, but I don't think he's that talented. However, the band isn't that good either, so they're a perfect fit. Besides, I think he fits the fun-loving pervy Tommy Lee vibe. However, I'd much rather hear the house band play any day of the week.

I hope Storm goes home tonight because she's too good for this band. I remember her back from her SF club days as Storm and Her Dirty Mouth. You can download a sample or two off Amazon. BTW, did you notice that she accidentally dropped the F-bomb during her original song? I laughed my butt off at that.

Hehe, yeah, I noticed that. I also realized I forgot to say anything about Magnus. <crickets chirping>...<crickets chirping>...<crickets chirping>

Watched it tonight for the first time. Only saw one guy and the two girls sing. All sucked. Hard.

Uh oh, are we going to have a throwdown over the Monkees? We might have to bring the Partridge Family into this, too.

P.S. True confession time: I had a HUGE crush on Micky Dolenz for years, even though that show first aired about 5 years before I was born.

Storm got the boot. Maureen will be happy though because now she can go out and do her own thing. It's hard to really read into why the supernova guys choose who is going to leave. Is it really because, as they said, Storm has been in the bottom three too many times? Is it more because she doesn't perform their music or style of music well? Or is it because Tommy wants to have sex with her and while still on the show or if she is in the band, she might be off limits?

Talent aside, I still think Toby fits better with the group. Their music seems more like his style of music. I think they really like Magnus as well, but I don't think he sings all that great. I've heard rumors that the band wants a female singer. I would have picked Storm over Dalana if that is the case.

I AM happy! Now she can come back to the Northwest where she belongs.
I was too busy doing this to watch last night, so I'm glad of the update.

No, no... You're supposed to slam The Monkees in public, then go home and listen to their music in private. (Kind of like we used to do with Abba. )

Marc, I think maybe Gregg was referring to something else entirely.

Oh, I see. Well, by all means... Carry on, then. In private.
