Hi all,

Today only I gave SCJP 6.0 exam and got 61%.And passing score is 65%.

I feel very bad about it coz i think i work hard to score better.

I completed entire K & B book. Not only i just read the topics but worked on on examples in book and on my own.

Please help me to reappear for the same.

Following is my Section Analysis
1) Declaration,Initialization and Scoping.........58%
2) Flow Control............................................90%
3) API Contents...........................................80%
4) Concurrency............................................37% in this topic i am confused with what will be the output
5) OO Concepts............................................40%
6) Collections/Generics.................................50%
7) Fundamentals...........................................63%

Please suggest me some books or links in which i have less score.

One more thing, now what should be my approach to get VERY GOOD SCORE in this exam?

Sorry to hear that. I thing doing lot of mocks is the best way to understand those concepts.

Hi Sneha, welcome to javaranch

Tough luck with the exam. You said that you read the K&B book and did practice by creating examples but what about Mock exams?? Did you give mock exams available on the internet for free and paid. It is very very important to get a good score. Also I can only say that practice more this time, give a lot of mocks and be clear on all the concepts. If you have any doubts, then you know the place to ask your queries

Just don't let this stop you, go hard at it and you'll definitely clear the exam in your next attempt

I forgot to tell that i gave 2 exams that are there in K & B book, then i gave 3 mock test from [A KNOWN PROVIDER OF ILLEGALLY COPIED MATERIAL] and 2 trial test of uCertify PreEngine.

Score in above all exams was not outstanding but i always managed to score more than 70%.

Still i couldn't clear the exam.

Hi Sneha,

that's sad.

It's time for me to take the exam in 6 weeks. I'm prepping every day 2 hours at least.
Reading the book, making some tests and so.
It's important to understand everything. I see your weakness in OO Concepts. You should get at least 80% here.
This is really important!

I wich you that you'll make it next time. Good luck!

I would say that you give more mock exams. A free download is available for K&B book on the internet i.e. the 3rd exam of K&B book. Try that. In addition to that, go for Inquisition, Examlab and as much others that you can give...

Hi Ankit,
Could you provide some links to mock tests?

Thanks,
Priyanka

But keep focused on the topics you had low score, like Concurrency, and try to remember the questions you felt you need to study more. And try to exercise by solving lots of mocks, like http://www.danchisholm.net/
