Hi all ,

I need to develop a secured application (logging by username and password) i need it too simple , so what is the best design for it , is using JAAS ? or retriving username and password from DB or authentication via DD , or there any other good ideas ?

Thanks,
Sherif

What kind of application is this - web app? desktop app? Both, using the same backend?

In that case, JAAS seems like overkill. See http://www.coderanch.com/t/438113/Java-General-intermediate/java/Authentication-authorization for my answer to a very similar question.

So you recommend using the Servelts API security and retrieving the username and password from the Db ... right ?
