Last weekend while making apple cider with about 30 people, I tried to convince them to not break open the apple seeds because they contain arsenic. Several people were in denial about this. So many that I started to doubt myself. So I googled for it and found a lot of useful information - including a page on how to commit suicide via apple seeds (it takes about a half cup of seeds, just to be sure).
But more interesting were some pages that were loaded to the gills with interesting trivia bits.
http://www.freewebs.com/random_rach/randomfacts.htm http://www.prankspace.com/facts.php "About 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year."
"A litre of vinegar is heavier in winter than in summer." Why is that?
"The North American tarantula has a bite as harmful as a pinprick." This makes them a helluva lot less scary.
"The USA had no national anthem until 1931."
"An
ant has the largest brain in proportion to its body than any other animal."
"Only two types of mice are found in Ireland." It could be one if they still had snakes!
"The only apostle to die a natural death was John." I think there is a powerful message in there.
