Hot Deployment of just a jar

I am trying to figure out how to get a single jar hot-deployed. I've read quite of few postings about dropping wars, ears, etc but not much on just a jar.

Small bit of background: We have two servers, one of which handles administrative tasks. The administrative server updates one of our jars, re-signs the jar and delivers the jar thru JMS to our other server. The signing is needed because later the jar is downloaded by our JNLP clients. The second server, pulls the jar from the JMS Queue and creates the jar file with a temporary name inside our .ear deployment folder. Then we attempt to delete the existing jar from the ear folder and that fails.

What we want to do is to be able to delete the currently deployed jar and rename/copy the newly delivered jar within our ear folder structure OR drop the jar in a folder and be able to tell JBoss where to deploy the jar. Currently, if I drop a new copy of the jar in the deploy/ folder, JBoss does not appear to hot-deploy the jar.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
