I never done this before but Try this,

Remove the scriptlet and redefine "value" attribute of html:radio tag

Thanks, but this gives me below mentioned error

JSPG0227E: Exception caught while translating /jsp/Inquiry/salReset.jsp: /jsp/Inquiry/salReset.jsp(322,24) --> JSPG0123E: Unable to locate tag attribute info for tag attribute AN.

but still its not working the way i want it..

I call a java script on lclick of a particular radio button

If i use scriptlet tag , then details (the appended string, which is passed as value from the radio button) prints
something like 12,23 ( Where say 12 --- AN and 23 ---ASN) 12 and 23 are some random values i came up with.

(AN, ASN being the property of the form, so the values of it are set up in Action)

however, when i use the way as you said in your post, like value="${AN}" etc.., then i see the output

{AN} (which means value is not getting retrieved as expected.

Hope i am clear enough, please let me know if some clarifications are required

Don't play around, be sure what you are doing. Nonetheless, try what Sagar suggested, because it looks like the bean is in some context. Your variables are not in any context.

To make it clear, if your variable is not attached with some context, you can't use that in EL. That is the reason my suggestion didn't work out as expected.

I hope this clears the thing.
