How to pass byte array to RPC procedure

I want to convert my image file to byte array to pass it to the RPC procedure.
And then vice versa to save it into the database.
Note I am using Apache XML-RPC not axis and developing it on Android

But im getting the error.

Exception in thread "main" org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: No method matching arguments: java.lang.String, java.lang.String, java.lang.String, java.lang.String, java.lang.Byte
