Dear Friends,

I have downloaded and unzipped the 4.0 version of Jboss. But when I open the JMX console by running http://localhost:8080/jmx-console, I am prompted for the username and password. Please tell me what I should enter here.

Also please give me the URL from where I can download the Graphical installation version of JBoss.

Thank You.

Vellan.

The username and password would be stored in two properties files in your server's props directory. Read this for more info...

Why such a old version? The latest stable 4.x version is 4.2.3 GA

Where did you download it from? From what i know (i haven't used 4.0), the jmx-console is by default not secured. So you shouldn't be seeing the login popup. Are you using the JBoss AS community edition or are you using the EAP edition?

There's none (although some time back there was a JEMS installer), because installing JBoss is as simple as unzipping the archive file.

If you go to ${JBOSS_HOME}/server/xxx/conf/props the user name and password are stored there for the console. (xxx is probably default in your case)

Vellan, EAP is the for-subscription version of the app server, you need a support contract to obtain it.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
