i m getting this error while running my buildScript ,from http://static.springframework.org/docs/Spring-MVC-step-by-step/ TUTORIAL

Nothing to do with Spring really - it's something related to the Tomcat Ant Tasks.

Moving to the ANT, Maven and Build Tools forum.

Your tomcat server hasn't started with a resource at that URL.

I rather doubt that you are using the same build.xml as the original poster, thus it would help us to help you if you instead started a new topic as described exactly what problem you have run into, providing any related build.xml excerpts.
