Can Agilian be used to prototype an application? I'd like to be able to iteratively build a model and generate code in a prototyping manner.

Agilian is design for free style modeling (Agile Modeling). There is no code generation features. For code generation, you may checkout UML case tool product (e.g. VP-UML)
