struts v/s servlets

Hi,

Can any one tell me the advantages/disadvantages of using struts over jsp/servlets? Why should i choose struts framework over Servlets?

With Struts you get a clean MVC design and the features of struts like validations, tag library, automatic transfer of form values, type conversions .........and the list goes on...

Also note that if you're using Struts you'll also be using JSPs as the view layer. And ultimately, Struts is just a servlet - it's possible to add other servlets to an otherwise Struts-based web app; Struts merely adds additional functionality (just like any other web framework such as Wicket, Tapestry, JSF, Stripes, ... does).
