String array for form entry

Hello
I have data (x,y,z) that I want to capture on form entry as a String[3]. I created three html:text elements with the same property. That should "induce" the browser to create my desired String[] and populate. It is not. How can I do it non-primitively as anything more than three separately named input elements? tia.

Also the code you're trying.
