Check out the "What does 'PMD' mean?" link on the PMD SourceForge page.

Anath , Thanks its really funny

one more query can PMD be used for Web Applications .

Because when i tried it in desktop application a simple JDBC program, where i didn't close the Connection and statement and PMD indicated this .

But when ran the same program in a JSP ,PMD did not show anything related to it.

so can PMD be used for Web Applications .??

http://pmd.sourceforge.net/jspsupport.html explains why that is. I can understand the rationale, because well-designed web apps should not contain any Java code in JSPs.

Thank you very much.
