Is anybody using Grails for real-world application development?

I'm just starting out with Grails and I think it's great, and of course there are some great tutorials and books around to introduce us to the tools and give us tips on how to do various things e.g. AJAX etc.

However, I know Grails is still pretty new, but so far I haven't seen much indication of whether it is being widely used for real-world applications yet.

I'm happy to invest my time in learning Grails (I'm out of work right now, so time is not a problem!), and it's great fun to be able to produce a JEE app without having to do all the hard stuff myself, but I'm wondering just how interesting Grails is going to be to potential employers as an extra Java-oriented skill on my CV.

So does anybody out there know of some serious applications being developed with Grails already, or is it still the Next Big Thing?

Scott Davis (author of Groovy Recipes) created a site for Portland, Oregons mass transit department. I also believe that LinkedIn as well as Pepsi use Grails for their web framework. I'm short on details I'm afraid. Grails is still relaltively new and it's hard to find any information on its adoption rate. I do, however, think that it's an excellent idea and I hope to see its adoption grow.

These seem to be real world. Maybe not huge apps, but real world.

Thanks Gregg. It's good to know that many applications are using Grails.
