Hi all,
I have just cleared SCWCD and thinking of what to do next.I am working on a crap porject and want to come out of it and work as a developer. My job does not demand any understanding of EJB or web services. So I want advice on whether to go with BCD or JWS? I dont have any knowledge on both technologies and want to go by industry demand. Is the latest BCD exam update to EJB 3 version ? And also heard that new version of JWS is about to be launched - so should I wait until the new one is launched?

I am really confused. pelase help me out
Any help is appreciated.

The new WS exam is out. See this.

Since you do not know both technologies, any one could be picked up.

Look around and see what the local job market is asking for.

The exam available for EJB3 is cx-310-091. The upgrade version is 092.

I believe, WS exam is tougher than SCBCD. So you need to decide, hunt a lion or a deer.

Also, note that, if you are a head first fan, you won't be getting any head first book for an of these exams.

Thank you Niranajan for your reply. The fact that there is no HF book for both of these is really sad
I am still in confusion for which one to go.
The problem is I will not have any industry experience as of now on these technologies and I dont know how useful these two certifications would be without hands on experience .
Can any one advice me on what the current industry demand is.?

Industry demand? If you have time, you can learn anything that you can, who knows it may be useful any time!

Note that studying for web services is tough than for ejb.

SCDJWS is much more difficult than SCBCD, you can try to study, and you will know what I mean.

Currently, EJB 3 is not so popular, but EJB 3 includes JPA, it would be nice to have knowledge about ORM (JPA is a Java platform standard for ORM).
