Hi all,
Which is in more demand now - java web services or EJB3 ? I am talking of demand in the sense of more requirement ( need not necessarily be highly paid). I have finished SCWCD and want to go for another certification. My job doesn't demand EJB or web services skills and I dont know anything about any of these technologies.
And please let me know if a certification in these two without industry experience would be useful or not ?

Please help me I am really confused

Both are popular so try to get hands-on experience in both. Some of the things you can learn are EJB3, Web Services, and XML based technologies like XSDs, WSDL, XPath, XQuery, and XSLT.

Thank you sir for your reply. I will go for web services first as I heard it is tough to crack.

This is a side rant -- so feel free to ignore. I don't understand why recruiters bother to target EJB or Web Services for candidates.

I have done both. And in both cases, I spend a small percentage of time, setting the home, interface, WSDL, etc. and then spent the majority of the time coding the actual service. This majority of code would have been the same regardless of whether part of an EJB or web service.

I understand why it is important to target servlets or JSPs -- as there is a tighter integration with the web server. But for EJBs and web services, I would rather hire based on knowledge of the subject matter, and get the new hire a book.
