This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of The Mikado Method and have Ola Ellnestam and Daniel Brolund on-line! See this thread for details.
Today I took the SCJP 5 exam and cleared it with 87% ( as I see most of the people clearing it with a score of more than 90%). I took this exam for the second time (Disappointed In the SCJP Exam) . I had posted about my failure and got a lot of feed-back from many people. That encouraged me to take the exam for the second time. Thank you all for the support and guidance.
I would like to thank all the JavaRanch moderators and members for their patience to read my questions and patiently answering them and rectifying my mistakes. I would personally like to thank Mr. Punit Singh (whom I met here at JavaRanch and am now I touch with) who helped me a lot and guided me through out the process of learning, the moderators Mr. Bert Bates(I learned a lot from your posts) , Mr. Marc Weber, Mr. Henry Wong, Mr. Jesper Young, who dedicate their valuable time guiding us, also Mr. Amit Ghorpade , Mr. Devaka Cooray himself and his excellent creation Exam Lab (I never got more than 54% ), Mr. Ankit Garg , Mr. Ruben Soto ,Mr .Himalay Majumdar, Mr..James Tharakan and many more for their valuable contributions to the discussions.
After the first time, I dedicated my time more I coding than reading the book. I solved as many possible test parers that I got from JavaRanch and samle SCJP questions (I also wrote code on paper for better understanding) .K&B book is good rather best for them who has a basic knowledge of Java (the book demands a good hand at Java basics, OO understandings and the basics of Generics with collection). The real exam is not so easy and requires practice (so don't take it lightly friends ). My second attempt's result does not make me so happy but I am proud to say today that I am an SCJP now.
Also today I bought the voucher for SCWCD and I start for it tomorrow (TODAY .....Party time ). I wish all the SCJP aspirants all the best and will try my best to contribute to JavaRanch. LOL . Have a nice time
Sorry for bumping the post up the ladder... Could not resist myself from appreciating sudipto shekhar for his performance and will to get through the certification.
Congrats buddy for your score... You deserve the percentage , its very few of them who step up to take up the exam AGAIN.
All the very best for your future.
