Story Corps is a neat idea. They basically sit two people down, and have them talk for 40 minutes about whatever. The recordings are then archived in the Unites States Library of Congress, and some (all?) are posted on their web site. A select few get edited down to a few minutes and air on National Public Radio, usually on their "Morning Edition" show.

My wife and I recorded our story this past Saturday. In conjunction with the Siteman Cancer Center, they are helping with a study of how parents talk to their kids about cancer. My wife was diagnosed with breast Cancer in Jan of '08, and my daughter at the time was almost 5. We talked about how we dealt with various issues, how we told Olivia, what we did to help her, and to help ourselves.

It was really... well... fun isn't the right word. Therapeutic, perhaps. It was nice to talk about some of the issues. And I think both of us learned something about the process and our daughter we didn't know.

If you had the chance, what would you want to talk about, and share with others?
