Spammers have come up with image based spam which enables the mail to end up in target mailbox wihtout getting filtered by text or hyperlink filtering.

How can such spam mails be filtered out?

Is that not a good thing ? You never have to open the image now

You get something like this.

So filters are not able to filter out such mails as there is no text! It is an image.
Any way to filter out this?

Few people send images by email, so you could create a rule that moves all emails that have image attachments to the junk folder ... unless the sender is in your address book.

Usually they are HTML formatted emails to .. so configure your email only to accept text emails.

You can always turn off images in emails. For instance, in my Yahoo email, I have images turned off, so I don't see images in emails, and can always click on a "Show Images" link if I need to see the images.

Problem is I am getting tons of such mails (25-30+ every day)! I have to manually delete them from inbox. Images are not the problem. Point is how to block it alltogether. Is there any freeware Microsoft outlook utility/plugin available instead which you are aware of by any chance?

If you are using yahoo or gmail, just mark the mails as spam. I think they use messages marked as spam to improve their spam filters. If it is your company mail, contact your mail admin. Or you could block all mail coming from addresses not in your address book (that would be a bit extreme, though).

Thats not surprising. In my own personal mail box, roughly that percent does qualify as spam.

I lowered my filter as some of my personal emails are getting junked; the filter may be inefficient.
