Hi all,

I am preparing for IBM DB2 730 exam.
I know only one book "DB2 9 Fundamentals Certification Study Guide by Roger E. Sanders "
Can you post the materials you used, the experience in the real exam ?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

That book - the Roger Sanders one - was very good. I liked his questions, although hated the fact that he reused the end of chapter questions at the end of the book as well. I think I wanted to do the end of book test fresh to get an accurate idea of where I was, but having seen the questions before at the end of chapters, I came out with an unrealistically high score. I also emailed him once with a query and he didn't respond.
Excellent book though - definitely worth a purchase.

I also used http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/offers/lp/db2cert/db2-cert730.html.
You need to sign up, but it's easy to do.
From memory, one or two of the sections were written by Roger Sanders and were almost lifted from his book, but the others are definitely worth a going through.

If you have a good grasp of SQL, you should be well on the way for this exam.
If new to SQL, check out: http://www.sqlcourse.com/ and http://sqlcourse2.com/, and there are many others.

Edit: Forgot to mention - IBM do DB2 Express C - the 'C' is for community, so it's free. Well worth putting that on a box and issuing commands/SQL at it - you'll soon learn them.

Hope that helps,

MG
