I was reading alot of threads and posts regarding the latest news regarding Oracle buying Sun Microsystems, and the fear for the future of Java ... etc. and I got this thought.
What if Oracle has something new in mind, I mean 99% of Java development is web based and enterprise applications, and 99.9% of them are applications that communicate with the database. so here is the deal, what if Oracle has in mind to modify the Java language to make access to the database even easier , what if you will be able to write PL/SQL using Java syntax (or a modified java systax) ???
add to this a trasparent EJB like layer, caching, security, and other stuff all sitting between Java and the DB ??
I don't know. But I think that if the Java language OO will get some core modifications making it ODBO = Object & DataBase Oriented language - I just invented the ODBO acronym- will be really great
