hello friends,
i am new to JBoss. i have just installed JBoss 4.0 on Linus fc9.
i have a .war file of the application and need to deploy it.
please guide in which folder exactly shall i put this file before starting the server.

also when i start the server from terminal with run.sh, it starts and i can see the index page at port 8080.
but i don't know how to stop this instance from terminal. because i tried it with the shutdown.sh , but i can still see the index page.

please reply.
thank you.

Why such a old version? The latest versions of JBossAS are 4.2.3-GA and 5.1.0 CR1

You can place it in %JBOSS_HOME%/server/default/deploy folder.

"Ctrl + C" on the console will cleanly stop the server. However, shutdown.sh too would do the same. Do you see any messages when you run shutdown.sh? And are you sure the index page is not cached?

Yes you can, but you will need JBossAS-5.1.0 CR1 which has the admin console. The earlier versions dont have an admin console.
