ExamLab installation problem

Hi all,

I would like to install the ExamLab on my pc , but it doesn't work

During the set-up the following appears :
Setup cannot continue because some files are out of date on your system.
Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now.

What should I do ?

If useful , I have an old Windows XP version ( Service Pack 1 ).

I am studying for SCJP 5 and it would be great having ExamLab support to pass the exam!!

I guess that you got this error message from Microsoft JET driver installation. Can you try to continue the setup by ignoring that error? Or continue the ExamLab setup WITHOUT installing the JET driver.

Hi Devaka, hi all,

you are correct. I have got this error message from Microsoft JET driver installation.

I have tried to re-install the ExamLab, aborting the Jet Driver Set-up, but I haven't had success.

I have continued as well the set-up ignoring the error, but :
when I launch the ExamLab.exe , I receive the following error message :
"Error occured while accessing internal system files"

when I try to validate my copy I receive the following error message :
Problem with Registration
An error occurred while registering your copy. Cannot complete the registration. Please retry


These don't seem good news for me !!

The problem with the JET drivers. It says some system files are out of date on *your* system. (Maybe it is because you are using ServicePack 1) Did you click on OK button?

Hi Devaka,

yes, I clicked on OK button.
The sut-up suggests to re-start Windows , and I did so.
After re-started, I launch the ExamLab.exe and the following appears :
Error occurred while accessing internal system files

Do you think I should add the Service pack2 to my WindowsXP version ?

Whatever , in order to make ExamLab work

Mmmm, actually I can't give you an exact answer for this, because this problem is with the Microsoft JET driver. Only Microsoft knows about it. Anyway this is a really uncommon problem, I think.

Hi Devaka,

I just wanted to let you know I have been able to install successfully the ExamLab.

The problem was due to the Microsoft Service Pack 1.
After updating WindowsXP to Service Pack2 , the set-up has been completed at first attempt.

Now I have no excuses. Just studying.
