Using variables for param-value elements in web.xml

Is it possible to do that?

Here is an example:



I want to read the value for jcifs.http.domainController from properties file or DB table. Does the Servlet spec allow for this and how can it be done (e.g. EL expression, etc.)

EL is used with jsp . not in filter/servlet . and yes you can get the param-value in servlet using

No. you can get it with help of FilterConfig
