If I get to choose, I would probably pick Pistachio. Otherwise, Vanilla is fine. BTW, when I was in France many many years ago, I tried a Pear Sorbet. It was incredible !! I have yet to find it in the states. Henry

cake batter flavor, but if I cannot get to that I like Oreo/cookies and cream, or the general Butter Pecan is good. [ July 10, 2007: Message edited by: James Hambrick ]

Sorbet is easy to make. Get yourself a cheapo ice cream maker and you can make your own in no time flat. My own recipe for Ginger Sorbet will knock your socks off.

Phish Food from Ben & Jerry - so good. It's too bad there's only a very limited B&J selection over here.

Share please. My favorite flavor is chocolate chip. I like the cheap kind, with the little flakes of chocolate, not the expensive kind with big chunks of chips. i'm weird.

Bear's Knock-your-socks-off Ginger Sorbet 1 c sugar 1 c ginger preserves 1/4 c minced candied ginger 4 c ginger ale Bring sugar, preserves, candied ginger and 1 c of the ginger ale to a simmer in a saucepan. Stir until the sugar and preserves are completely dissolved. Do not bring to a hard boil. Mix in the rest of the ginger ale. Cool completely in the refrigerator, preferably overnight. Following the directions of your ice cream maker, freeze the sorbet until a thick slush is achieved. Freeze until firm. It can freeze up pretty hard, you might want to take it out of the freezer about 20 minutes before serving. Variations: If you can't find ginger preserves (Dundee's is a common brand), increase the sugar to 2 cups, but it won't be as ginger-y. If you really like ginger, substitute ginger beer for the ginger ale. This will make it Bear's Melt-your-boots Ginger Sorbet . [ July 11, 2007: Message edited by: Bear Bibeault ]

Starbuck's Java Chip icecream is both tasty and cool for developers.... plus the "onboard chips" give the hardware guys something to enjoy as well.
