Does BEA has database product also ? I was interviewed at one place and I was told that data is stored in BEA database. I was under the imopression that BEA has only one product and thats WebLogic Application Server.

Did this BEA database exist before it was taken over by Oracle ? If no, then is it some kind of oracle database renamed as BEA database ?

thanks

I am unaware of a BEA database. Oracle products, including the recently-acquired BEA, are named "Oracle".
Weblogic ships with an embedded version of Pointbase (which I believe is owned by IBM now). Perhaps this is what they were talking about.
