musical notes in JavaScript

I'm wondering if there is any way to use JavaScript to play musical notes. Nothing really fancy, just a tone at a certain frequency for about one second, something like that. Or even just a beep or a buzz or something.
My book on JavaScript says nothing about sound. (It's a little old.)
