I need to get the paramter of FIXED_DATE for Database, and I tried to use Statement or PRepareStatment, but both get the error message,"java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement " or " java.sql.SQLException: SQL string is not Query"

What JDBC function should we use to check the statement "show parameter " ?

Steve,
As 'show parameter" is not SQL, you aren't going to be able to run it through JDBC. The only thing I can think of is to run it through a command line via Runtime.exec.
