Hello Everyone,
I plan to take the SCJP exam in late June. I'd be interested in any information about the dreaded drag-and-drop questions I've heard about, where your work gets wiped out if you go back and review the question. Does anyone have any "tips" about how to review a question, without losing your work on that question? I may simply decide to never review a drag-and-drop question, but any info anyone has would be appreciated!
Thanks!

DnD questions can't be reviewed. If you have answered it and try to review it the previous answer is wiped out. May be it is better now. But the strategy is use that paper Prometric provided to mark down what questions are DnD and try to answer those if you have a clue when you get one. If no clue, skip it till the end or something. If you think you are not sure and did answer it put your answer on that paper so that if it wipes out, you still have your answer handy (don't need to rethink). Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi,
Under every question you will have previous and next buttons. If you answered a Drag and Drop question, clicked next and then again wished to go back and clicked previous, the exam client gets stuck for some time. So it is not better to review them that way. After completing the last question you will get a screen like this :-
1.A
2.BCD
3.AB
4.Application Item
M 5.C
6.B
I 7.
8.DE
...
...M - Marked. I - Incomplete.
It will show the question number and options chosen by you. And Drag and Drop questions will be showed as Application Items. So you can select them and click the Review Item button. It will say that the answer already given will be wiped, do you wish to continue. So you can opt as you like. If by fast clicks or any, you have missed to answer any question, that will be displayed as incomplete. So only thing is if you wish to review drag and drop question then better do it at the end.
Regards,
Samrat.

Unless you really have to, try not to review DnD questions as your answer will get wiped.

I am very grateful for all these responses!
Thanks especially to Samrat.
I do have one follow-up question. I was astonished when Samrat mentioned that clicking the PREVIOUS button can cause the exam client to get stuck. (!!!)
I assume that this refers to (clicking the previous button, only when the previous item would be a drag-and-drop question)? I hope this doesn't mean: "never click the previous button".
Sorry to dwell on the worst-case, but has anyone had actual experience with the exam client being "stuck"? Have the Prometric workers been helpful?

Hi Fischer,
Yes, I meant that only with Drag and Drop questions. I said everything from my own experience. I clicked previous for a DnD question, it got stuck and I had to loose few minutes of time not knowing what to do. I didnt consult prometric workers. So I believe that checking them at the end will be better and there is no reviewing for them its just re-answering.
Regards,
Samrat.

I just took and passed the SCJP 6 test. I can confirm that if you review the Drag and Drop questions, your answers will be erased. There are a lot of Drag and Drop questions, I may guesstimate about 25%. Be warned.

I think it is not fair. Why are those bugs in the exam?
