Voucher and expiration

Hi all,

What can you do if your voucher is going to expire and you are not ready for taking the essay exam? Or could you take the essay exam before submitting your assignment?

On the SCJD fag, you can find this item telling you to book an exam with it in the future and if you are not going to be ready before that date, just postpone/defer the exam.

But if you take a look at the voucher, you can read:

Please be aware that exam vouchers are nonrefundable for any reason.
Examinations must be booked and taken prior to the voucher expiration date.
Each voucher is valid for one exam and may only be used at an authorised Prometric testing centre in the country in which it was purchased.

so that is conflicting with the statement in the scjd faq...

kind regards,
Roel

Hi Roel, so you got the voucher and not done with project. Well you can always schedule the date before your voucher expires and defer it (like it said in the faq). Or simply take the essay exam then submit the assignment - which I highly don't recommend.

If you opt for the 2nd choice, then ideally you need to submit within one week. You don't want to hang around with that. If you opt for the 1st choice then you need to estimate your time deciding how much time to defer.

If you are "only" polishing your docs and comments then the 2nd choice is ok. But if you still testing or writing code then defer.
