I have seen this happen may times in the past -- as tools get graphical, they tend to target a larger audience, specifically operations and executives.

I have noticed that SmartInspect provides graphs and charts. I am assuming that this is enabled because the API allows the application to post the data. Please correct me if I am wrong.

But... the next questions is... is it possible to setup watches on this data? For example, I don't care to see how many threads I have available ln a particular thread pool; what I want to see is a green, yellow, and red indicator based on how many threads I have in the pool (which I can configure, independently of the application).

Hello Henry,

the charts in the SmartInspect Console actually display the data of specific 'watches' you log and send to the Console. So if you send the database connection count to the Console every time you open or close a connection, for example, you can create a graph in the Console to visually highlight this information.

The Console is not a dashboard-like application though, so you cannot add custom indicators or graphs to it. And although the Console is a graphical tool, it's not designed for executives, but has been optimized for developers to quickly navigate through large amounts of logging data and to easily identify bugs, solve issues and easily trace applications.

Regards,
Dennis
