I've been doing alot of work with GWT lately, but I've never seen any GWT apps deployed within a portlet.

Does the new book address the integration of GWT apps with JSR286 portlets, or, for that matter, the integration of heavily scripted UI interfaces within a LifeRay portal environment?

Awesome! This type of integration is great both for Portal and GWT.
