I have bad news to report! I failed the SCJP by only 1 question!!! i answered 46 right only.
My biggest problem I ran out of time, i was too careful answering the earlier questions at the beginning,
taking a second look and making sure I was correct. Around question number 45 i got really tired and realized i
am running out of time, i started hurrying up and thats when i think i started taking short cuts and missing the logic!
I was really surprised to be honest...as I am a competent java programmer and while doing the test I was able to spot many trick questions....I just don't know what happened
I tried to take a short cut in the preparations and did not do many different mock exams.
I did the K&B exams but since i had done teh diagnosis and the exam questions are similar it was NOT a true assessment of my
preparedness. I scored well in K&B mock getting 92% once and 87 another tiem in master bonus exam.
I tried to do the Exam Lab found it incredibly tough and left it. I did the free whiizlabs and Sun exams and did well in them, I got 80%
in teh whizlabs one that has 28 questions. Anyways...i have a free retake, which i will sue pretty soon. I think my next move will be to buy
Whizlabs mock test and do them religiously untill I get 75% then i will retake the test.
Any advice please suggest!
Very sorry to hear about your story. Failing by one question is indeed very painful. As you identified correctly, you should take a lot of mock exams. Take one test at a time and after the test, read up on topics in which you score less before attempting the next one. I am sure you will be successful next time.
hey just try to find out the mistakes you did while taking your mock exams
i just scored 50-60% in mock exams but i took a lot time while doing that mock exams
and work out on the mistakes will give you the idea where you can make mistakes
so my advice is to do as many mock exams as you can but sincerely and try to figure out
mistakes and learn from that mistakes.
all the best!!
