Ulf, don't these solutions require connection to the running Access database itself? It wasn't clear to me if the OP was actually running Access (i.e. via Wine), or just had the DB file on the Linux server.
Not being argumentative, just making sure I understand.

Access is not a DB server - it's just a file residing on a file system somewhere, not something that's running in the sense that there's a process associated with it. The file system could be on Linux as well as on Windows.
The Access GUI application just opens the file, but it's not required to access the data.
Using Access in a web app is of course liable to cause concurrency issues but I assume the OP has considered that.

well , ULF was just trying out an alternate solution for my problem...none of my solutions.. seems to work
