I'm one of those old guys who grew up watching a black & white television. (We only had 5 broadcast channels, and they all went off the air around midnight.)

Now I'm being nostalgic watching Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea on DVD. The first season was in black & white, and they switched to color for the second season. But I prefer this series in black & white, the way I first saw it as a kid. And I would love to watch the original Star Trek in black & white, or Adam-12...

So why isn't there a black & white "mode" that we can select on our televisions or DVD players? Am I the only freak that wants this?

My TV still has tint/color/contrast/whatever controls available through the onscreen menu, and if you crank the right one all the way down (the "color" one, I think) you get grayscale. You can come over to my house and watch if your TV doesn't. You bring the chips.

But yeah, I think you're the only one who wants this.

Can you emulate the snow that I remembered from my b&w TV as a child?

If so, I'll bring the cold ones.
