I have seen people with their name as wolfgang.

film personalities, even one of our rancher has this name.
what is the significance of this name.

Howdy ranchers,

I also always thought that it means "walk of (a) wolve". Now that I just looked it up, to my amusement I found out that it may mean also "warrior in animal disguise".


Around the 1950s it was the most popular name in Germany (and maybe Austria as well, don't know) but became rare afterwards. But I don't know the reason why.

By the way the most popular names in 2007 for babies in Germany are Leonie for girls and Leon for boys.
