Blank 'Panel' for Web Page

I need to create what in Java is a Panel in a web page environment. I am using JQuery for some of my Javascript but I am new to JQuery/Javascript/CSS so i'm not sure how to go about it. I need my web application to 'mimic' a Java Application look and feel and want to have a Menu at top (which i have) and then the rest of the page i want to have the look of an empty panel. I see a lot of JQuery with tabs and sliding panels, but nothing that just creates a big empty square box that takes up the page.

A big empty <div>?

It's not clear at all what you are after.

Sorry for the confusion. I got it, it was simply adding a height element to my div tag along with a border. Had nothing to do with JQuery.

I agree. Here's the link:
