Hi everyone.

I have a big problem with the results of SCJD. I wrote an essay exam on the 27th of April and uploaded an assignment a week earlier but still have no result. I don't even have any records on certmanager, except the result of my SCJP. Writing emails to who2contact and Prometric gave nothing. Is there anyone who have the same situation?

Hi Artur,

First of all: I'm back of a 10-day vacation to Bulgaria (to relax a bit after 4-5 months hard work on the SCJD)

I took my essay exam May 15th, and I checked the Cert Manager Monday and I could see the result of scjd, but the result was not yet visible in the certification database. So I don't have any clue about what you can do besides sending a mail to the who2contact email address (with your correct prometric testing id and your name). I have sent them some emails in the past and always got an answer within 2-3 business days. It's very strange they completely ignore you and for you it should be very

Kind regards,
Roel

That's really strange. I wrote those letters almost 2 weeks ago.
I've just contacted the local Sun office (in Moscow) and a girl there wrote a letter herself and sent it to 2 more addresses, which are unknown to me. Maybe it will help.

By the way, does anyone know anything about what will happen to the certification system of Sun with Oracle's acquisition?

Howdy, Roel!

First of all: I'm back of a 10-day vacation to Bulgaria (to relax a bit after 4-5 months hard work on the SCJD)

Good for you! I'd like to rest as well, things have been pretty busy...

I took my essay exam May 15th, and I checked the Cert Manager Monday and I could see the result of scjd, but the result was not yet visible in the certification database.

First, were you able to see your score? What was it?
Second, it takes around 5 days for your score to appear in the CertManager database. Soon it will be there!

Now, Artur, I know the waiting is painful, but I'm sure soon you'll have your results. Keep sending emails to who2contact@sun.com, they'll have to answer some time! First, ask if your project was received by them, and then ask how long it will still take for you to know your results.

Does everyone know what's the difference between the "Effective date" and the "Event date" fields in the certification database? My essay exam's effective date is Apr 27, 2009, but the event date is May 27, 2009. What does it mean?

Hi Artur,

I checked it in my account and with me:
- the effective date is the date you took the exam (in my case May 15, 2009)
- the event date is the date an event is created in the event history of sun certification database (in my case May 16, 2009). when you change your name or your phone number an event is also created.

I think unfortunately for you the 4-6 weeks of grading will start on May 27, because it seems only at that time they were aware of you finishing your essay exam (maybe some problem occured with the sending of your essay exam from testing centre to sun), so i guess you should have result within another 10 days waiting.

Kind regards,
Roel

Hi Roel and thanks for participation.

Oh, what an injustice
On the next week I'm going to St.Petersburg. Let's hope I'll find the way to access the internet from there:)
You must be happy now. A nice rest and perfect results. Congratulations.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I had just finished dealing with the certificate when was invited to an Oracle developers contest in St.Petersburg. So, I have to study Oracle now :) If I fail both challenges...mmm...I don't wanna think about that :)

Regards,
Artur.

Hi Artur,

I took the exam on the same day with you. The event date is May 27, 2009 as well. I emailed who2contact, got a reponse:
"Unfortunately, technical problems have resulted in some exam results not being transferred from Prometric to our certification database, delaying several certifications, including yours. We have notified Prometric of your issue, and hope to have the problem corrected in the near future. "

Regards.
