Problems in Drag and Drop questions

Recently i have cleared SCJP 1.5 and I have faced a big problem with Drag & Drop questions there. When I reviewed the same, my previous answers were erased. Also the DONE button needs to be pressed (which I forgot many times) otherwise the answer will not be saved.

Also I was provided with dry-erase board and a "thick" marker with which it was difficult for me to write on that board

Are the SUN people sleeping ?? I think SUN should correct all the Drag & Drop problems immediately.

I hope Oracle will do something in this regards now

As far as the writing board that you are given, my exam center didn't had anything to erase it so I had to manage everything on a single board. But this is not Sun's (or I should say Oracle's) problem. This is the responsibility of the prometric center...

Hi Das,

First of all congratulations for your amazing achievement by scoring 100% in the SCJP exam. Can you please guide me how to prepare for the drag and drop questions? Also please let me know what sort of programs should i try to gain more practical knowledge about the scjp stuff?

Awaiting your reply.

Thanks

Yeah, I didn't like the D&D stuff either. The task itself is ok and I got used to it.
But I forgot to write down my solution on paper. I think that this is a MUST.
So before my second round I've seen my mistake. But there was a big reminder
after pressing the "open" button, that the solution will be erased if I'd like to continue.
I decided against it.
My advice: WRITE DOWN YOUR SOLUTION ON PAPER !!!

cheers
Bob

You are welcome. I used ExamLab and K&B (book-CD) as practise for the exam.
Also, check this thread for your question: webpage

I passed the SCJP 6 exam last week.
The Prometric testing center did NOT ALLOW anything (paper/pencil) into the testing room.
They gave an eraseable board and a dry erase marker with which you can write a reasonable amount of material on the board but not as much as with paper/pencil. Therefore writing the answers to D&D questions onto the board would NOT be an option according to me. As Bob pointed out you DO get a warning if you review a D&D question (that the answer will be erased). So one has to be careful.
I estimate that about 20-25% of the questions (14-18 questions) were D&D.

Hope this helps,
Anand

We do not encourage [ possible ref. to illegally copied questions ] here. You can try the mock exams listed in javaranch. Most of them are free. Try my signature.

I don't know what Deepak mailed to you, but please note that the SCJP exam is copyrighted by Sun, and copying and redistributing questions from the real exam without permission from Sun is illegal.

I hope NIIT provides a pen and a paper........Solving it on the board will be time consuming. I like the pen paper much better.

Congratulations on passing the exam.

Maybe they do that to stop people from copying the questions and taking them home. Copying and redistributing the questions from the real exam is illegal, because the exam is copyrighted.

I don't think you'll be provided a pen and paper. As jasper said, that can be used to write down the questions and take them home...

Hi all,

Can anyone of you please let me know whether can I go ahead and laminate my SCJP certificate? Because as you people are aware that it is a thin sheet of paper and might be difficult to maintain as well .

Awaiting your reply.

Keerthi: Please don't append your own totally unrelated question to someone else's topic. If you have a new question, just open a new topic.

I don't see why laminating the certificate would be a problem. The paper certificate itself is not the only proof that you have for passing the SCJP exam. You'll be registered in Sun's database, and if a prospective employer wants to check whether you are really SCJP certified, you can show them that you're registered in Sun's database. So, go ahead and laminate it.

The proof of your certification is your knowledge.
