I was using JBOSS 4.0.5

Now we are migrating to JBOSS 4.2.3

There are many jars which are not there. first of all it seems there is no file called jbossweb-tomcat55.sar instead i feel its \jboss-web.deployer now

There were few jars in jbossweb-tomcat55.sar which was used in our project to compile jsps and have their presompiled java version. Can any body please tell me what are these changes with respect to jars. I can see there are many other jars not present.

Regards,
Abhishek

In AS 4.2.x, Tomcat 5.5 was replace with JBoss Web Server (aka JBoss Web). The javax.servlet.** classes moved to server/xxx/lib/servlet-api.jar and server/xxx/lib/jsp-api.jar.

I was considered mainly about the jars like jasper-runtime.jar and commons-el.jar which helped in pre-compiling jsp and keeping their java version for our own purpose. These were present in jboss/server/default/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat55.sar folder of jboss. In Jboss 4.2.3.

Any idea if they are replaced or removed?

I am for now using the jars getting copied manually from JBOSS 4.0.5 lib and is working fine but may be the whole process has been replaced with something else and I don't know

Looks like the org.jasper.* classes are in jboss-web.deploy/jbossweb.jar.

The org.apache.commons.el.* classes are no longer part of JBoss AS (perhaps the new version of Jasper doesn't need them???)

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
