(Audio available through blog link--worth a listen.)

1) Don't know the basics
2) Don't say "I don't know"
3) Have stuff on your resume you haven't actually used
4) Don't answer questions directly or concisely

David,
Nice post. I read the last couple and like the blog overall.

Unfortunately the link for CodeRanch doesn't take you anywhere in this post

"Update! Update! Update!"

That's actually a good way not to get any development job!

Fixed--thanks! "wranch"?! Good thing I don't do anything that requires any attention to detail.

Oh, wait.

I mean to blog more, but then I don't... trying to get better about it :)

I'm temporarily back at the place where this interview took place, the guy asking the questions was a sort of protege. I don't know how he did it... We still say "Update update myeeaarr update!" all the time, and occasionally make references to implementing the googling and C... GI?

I've probably listened to that thing a hundred times and I just can't get tired of it yet.
