Who else is going on H1B to USA for a better dating life?

Ok well I haven't yet actually applied for H1B but am planning to do only for the above mentioned reason. I have discussed this in a few other answer servcies on the internet but mostly get cruelly laughed at. I'm unable to tune into the frequency of people that say they go to US for making money. In my opinion it is ridiculous, considering the generally low cost of living in India. But to me it does make sense to go to US for a better dating life. I don't get very welcomed if I join an unknown girl eating alone in a cafe in India and moreover you rarely ever find them alone. I imagine women would be more independent and approachable in US. I'm getting old and wasted away. So what do you think; is it a good idea to come to USA on H1B? I get scared by the stories about the blood sucking bodyshoppoers and I don't want to regret my decision. I have absolutely no need/desire to leave India for making "more money" like the crowd. Please advice.

Are you an orphan? I thought in India your parents dealt with this problem for you.

hahahaha...good one Frank. Though in most cases, the parents take care of the "arranged marriage", there are still a few rebels around who may despise that idea.

Bhattacharya,

Is your motive just dating or dating and then marrying..?

Not been my experience. It is shocking to see the purchasing power of the Rupee erode down so much in the last few years. And am not just talking about goods. Hired help is very difficult to find, unreliable and quite expensive.

I realise this is tangential to your discussion, so let me stop my rant right here.

If dating is your concern, make sure you get the H1B, and not the HIV.

I thought folks came to the US for a better life. Either for themselves, or for their children.

How one defines a better life is a personal call. More money, more space, more dates, more easy women, to each his own.

My daughter has a med school friend (classmate, get your mind out of the gutter) who is a Sikh. He dates blond women with amazing bodies. She asked why he was dating them, since he could not possible marry them. He replied because its fun, and he can get married to a proper girl later. So that defines part of his definition of 'better life'

with a billion people, there are likely to be more good looking women in India than in the US, just from the numbers. When I was in grad school, my professor said that there were more middle class people in India than there are people in the US. Sure there are lots of poor people in India, but its a big place.

If you want to work hard and get a better life, come on.

Try get into how people in your current location does it. You probably can improve your skills in meeting women. Be yourself. Be bold and be honest.

That is surely intriguing, but what's the use if they don't respond to the right techniques?? I'd love to be proved wrong by some fellow Indian rancher who is successful with women. I need to decide quickly as the final date for applying for H1B is fast approaching.

they do; but they also like dating guys who are good looking(where as our desi physiques are to the contrary). Just my 2 cents.

I'm not aware of a country where a guy is welcomed to do this, certainly not in Europe or North America. If you imagine that this will work in the USA, then you're in for a big surprise.

That's a crock. Girls like dating guys that make them laugh, make them feel good about themselves and make them feel wanted. You might like to date a girl because she's hot, but dont assume that her motivations are the same..

I agree.Atleast in India I am seeing men with no plus on looks/body date nice looking girls. One common point I noted is these men talk on any rubbish issue from lip stick to latest movie and somehow keep girls busy talking to them.

Their independence makes them less approachable, and dont forget, youre foreign there.. We each have a culture, a way of thinking, and it's moulded by who we grow up around. You might find yourself very out of place in a foreign culture because the mindset is very different. This is one of the reasons why people from very different cultures rarely get on well enough to have an enduring and happy relationship. Date what you know. If you dont believe, then read up on the cultural differences and think about it more. I'm gonna sound harsh now, but your entire post smacks of hesitation and lack of confidence; girls just dont find that attractive! If you ever wondered why those guys who are "bad" get the girls, it's because they know how to develop attraction. Women want to be challenged, they want mystery and intrigue.

Best thing I could suggest for you, I guess, would be to tell you to go to www.doubleyourdating.com and sign up for that guy's news letter.. heck.. buy his CDs if you want to, but the email is funny and thought provoking enough.. It's the one bit of spam I didnt junk last year because it's right and it's hilarious. I occasionally forward the really funny ones to girl mates and they usually say "i wish more guys knew what this guy knows"
