Lowest-grossing movie opening ever?

I had no idea it was even possible to rake in just $27,696 on opening weekend for a release in more than 100 theaters. Of course, it does involve the talent-free heiress pretending to be an actress, so maybe this is a sign that the world has had enough of her...

After the film grossed only $1190.00 on eight screens, the studio decided not to expand the limited theatrical release any further.

"Reel Talk" actually liked "The Hottie and the Nottie" -- they may have split on the final decision, I am not completely sure.

But I do know that they really liked farcical nature of Paris Hiton's acting -- with tons of cuts, even within scenes that didn't need it. Both reviewers were envisioning --> action --> paris gives a few works --> cut --> stage hands give next few words --> action --> repeat...
