Trying to get verbose log4j info

I have the log4j log config file below, but all I'm getting in the jakarta log file is the prepared statement definitions. No "DEBUG" info as expected to help me figure out why things are slow.

I have show_sql=true property in my hibernate.cfg.xml and both the config files for hibernate and log4j are in my classes folder.

Any advise or suggestions appreciated!
