Doubt in LookupDispatchAction

Hi All,

I am new to struts and using version 1.1 and I was going through LookupDispatchAction and I have a doubt:

In lookupdispatch action we need to implement getkeymethodmap where the key value pair has to be added in the map which is also there in your property file.I am unable to understand if the struts framework will be using the map to get to the method that is to be invoked what is the reason to mention it in a property file once again?

Hoping this to be a valid question.

Thanks in advance.

(org.apache.struts.actions.DispatchAction) is one of the Built-in Actions provided along with the struts framework.

The org.apache.struts.actions.DispatchAction class enables a user to collect related functions into a single Action. It eliminates the need of
creating multiple independent actions for each function. Here in this example you will learn more about Struts Dispatch Action that will help you grasping the concept want examples

Posts: 263 file use to decouple the name appeared on jsp to the method name getting called in action class. You can map key of the property file to different value. And still call the same method in action class. This is mainly used to achive Internationlization, where you will be displaying button or link name in different language. there we use message key and we can use same message key as value of property file.
