Suprised I am at my gmail inbox... the side links section today had my phone number right there.

Shows my mobile number and the URL to track DHL package link is something like this...

http://www.dhl.com/publish/g0/en/eshipping/track.high.html?pageToInclude=RESULTS&type=trackindex&brand=DHL&AWB=XXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXX being my mobile number.

Simply wondering what is all this...

Akhilesh,
Was your phone # in the e-mail? Gmail scans your e-mail for keywords and uses them for ads, etc.

There was an alert mail from a job portal, that way it should have been linked with google ads. But is it ok to play around with this information and compose query strings of the urls? I wonder for no reason DHL or other services could have my name and phone number mapped ! !!!

It's in Google's terms of service that they can. So you (any many other people) agreed to it. Personally, I don't think it is a big deal. I'm the only one who sees the link and I already know that information.
